Dr Colin Watt
Colin is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist based in rural Mid-Canterbury, New Zealand.
He completed his specialist medical training in general psychiatry at Groote Schuur Hospital and the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital, followed by a further two years of post-fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry.
Colin relocated to Christchurch in 1994 and has since practised as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist across both public and private mental health services.
He brings extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of children and young people presenting with a wide range of psychiatric conditions.
His particular clinical interests include neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD, as well as anxiety and mood disorders.
For many years, Colin was a partner at the Children’s Specialist Centre in Christchurch. He now works from rural Mid-Canterbury and provides psychiatric consultations exclusively online, allowing him to work with children, young people and families across New Zealand.
Colin accepts referrals through The Child Psychology Service for children and young people requiring psychiatric assessment, treatment and ongoing review.
