How can I make a complaint or give feedback?
At The Child Psychology Service, we are committed to providing safe, respectful and high-quality care to every child, young person and family we support.
We welcome feedback, including concerns and complaints, as they help us improve our service. If something hasn’t met your expectations, we encourage you to let us know so we can work with you to understand the issue and seek a fair and timely resolution.
If you have a concern or would like to make a complaint, please contact us in writing by:

Please include:
- your name and contact details
- the name of the person or service involved
- a description of the concern
- relevant dates
- the outcome you are seeking
What happens next?
We will:
- acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days
- listen carefully and treat your concerns respectfully
- review the information fairly and objectively
- keep you informed throughout the process
Making a complaint will not affect the care or support you receive from The Child Psychology Service.
If you are not satisfied with the outcome of your complaint, or you would prefer independent assistance at any stage, you may contact the Nationwide Health and Disability Advocacy Service, which provides free and independent advocacy for people using health and disability services.
You may also contact the Health and Disability Commissioner (HDC), the independent organisation responsible for promoting and protecting the rights of people using health and disability services.
All complaints are managed confidentially and in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and the Health Information Privacy Code 2020.
