Kelly Ewart
Kelly is a Counsellor who specialises in working with primary and intermediate-age children. She is passionate about working with tamariki from all cultures and walks of life and has experience working in school and clinical settings. Her approach is child-centred, which enables her to cater her practice to the unique needs of each child and their family.
Kelly has a strengths-based focus and draws upon many modalities including:
Creative-expressive therapeutic interventions; sand-tray therapy, mindfulness-based interventions; narrative therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy amongst others.
She believes all young clients carry their own unique innate wisdom and natural intelligence, and that by working collaboratively, counselling can be the vehicle that helps young people connect to their empowered and authentic self, to their mauri and their mana.
Kelly can assist children & families with:
Social skills, managing big emotions, trauma, anxiety, navigating life’s ups and downs, strength-building, self-esteem, relationship challenges, loss and grief, parental separation, the pressure on the mind that can simply come with trying to belong and do your best in life.
