Jaz Murdoch
Jaz is a New Zealand registered Educational Psychologist who is passionate about connecting with young people and supporting their wellbeing.
With a strong belief in the power of meaningful relationships, Jaz sees connection as the foundation for creating lasting, positive change. Her journey into psychology began after working as a primary school teacher, where she noticed that children often struggled to learn if they didn’t feel safe, confident, or supported. This realisation inspired her to shift focus, and she’s been dedicated ever since to helping young people thrive, both in and out of the classroom.
Jaz understands that a child’s wellbeing is shaped not just by their internal world but also by the environment and people around them. She works closely with children and the important adults in their lives, adapting her approach to suit each individual and their whānau.
Jaz has a strong interest in supporting young people with neurodiverse traits or diagnoses and is dedicated to fostering understanding, growth, and helping each individual discover the unique strengths that make them who they are. She is equally passionate about working with those experiencing emotional struggles, focusing on building their confidence and developing practical skills. For Jaz, it’s all about building connection and creating a space where learning and healing can happen together.
In working with Jaz, you’ll find a safe, supportive, and collaborative space where your needs and goals are at the centre of the process.
