Dr Hazel Hopper
Hazel supports early years and primary school age children, by providing parenting and positive behaviour management programmes, sleep advice and routines, as well as guidance on how to meet your child’s developmental needs to teach them skills such as toilet training and self-care.
Hazel has worked for both the Health and Disability Sector and for the Ministry of Education as a Behaviour Specialist. She is experienced in delivering parenting programmes and professional development which is tailored to meet individual child’s needs through evidence based approaches.
Hazel is also a registered teacher with a BA (Hons) in Education, and is studying to become a Certified Sleep Consultant. Aside from being a parent herself, she has also been a classroom teacher and school leader, in both mainstream and special education classrooms, gaining first-hand experience of the skills needed to manage challenging behaviour with a consistent and positive approach.
Her experience means she understands how overwhelmed parents may feel and endeavours to ensure they feel supported and never judged.
Hazel is accredited to deliver Triple P (Positive Parenting Programme) for both the Stepping Stones and Standard Pathways as well as being a certified Incredible Years teacher trainer.
Aside from these evidenced based programmes, she enjoys creating Individualised Parenting and Sleep Plans which are tailored to meet specific parenting styles and their child’s temperament.
