Ashleigh Wills

Ashleigh is a caring, passionate and dedicated Clinical Psychologist who is excited to offer support to young people and their whānau in Queenstown and Wānaka.

Using evidence-based strategies informed by trauma and attachment theory, she tailors her approach to suit each child’s unique strengths and needs while considering their developmental stage, family environment and cultural context. Ashleigh works flexibly and collaboratively with children and families to ensure they feel listened to and supported throughout the process. She enjoys incorporating each child’s interests (and adding a touch of fun and humour when appropriate), to help create a space that feels safe, comfortable and engaging.

Ashleigh has completed eight years of university training, which has provided her with a strong foundation in child development alongside practical skills in assessment, formulation and intervention. She also brings many years of experience working with children in a variety of roles, including support work, childcare and ski instructing with young children.

She primarily draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while integrating other evidence-based approaches when appropriate.

Ashleigh is open to working with a range of concerns, including anxiety (such as generalised, social and separation anxiety), mood difficulties, phobias, obsessive -compulsive symptoms and emotional or behavioural challenges. She is also interested in working with neurodivergent children and young people.

She offers assessments for neurodiversity (ADHD and Autism) and intellectual disability, including tailored recommendations and therapeutic support following assessment.

Ashleigh is available to see clients in-person in Wānaka and Queenstown.
