Amy is a warm, compassionate counsellor with a passion for supporting children and young people as they navigate the emotional ups and downs of growing up.
She offers a safe, child-centred space where tamariki and rangatahi can explore their feelings using creative, expressive and talk-based therapies.
With experience in both school and clinical settings, Amy brings a calm, grounded presence to her work.
She values each child’s uniqueness and adapts her approach to suit their individual needs, always mindful of the child’s whānau and cultural background.
Amy’s counselling style is strengths-based, collaborative, and gently empowering. She draws from a range of therapeutic approaches including:
- Creative and expressive therapies
- Sand tray therapy
- Mindfulness-based practices
- Talk therapy
Amy believes that young people already hold a deep inner wisdom. Her role is to walk alongside them, helping them reconnect with their own resilience, personal strengths, and authentic self.
She supports children and their families with a wide range of challenges including:
- Emotional regulation and managing big feelings
- Social or relationship difficulties
- Anxiety and trauma
- Low self-esteem and confidence
- Grief, loss, or big life changes
- Parental separation
