Dr Nektarios Alexi

Dr Nektarios Alexi is a Registered Psychologist with extensive experience supporting children, adolescents and families across health, education and mental health settings. He is passionate about helping young people better understand themselves and ensuring families receive practical, meaningful recommendations that support positive outcomes at home, school and in the wider community.

Nektarios has received formal training in neuroaffirming assessment and has extensive experience conducting comprehensive assessments for Autism, ADHD, intellectual disability and cognitive functioning. He also undertakes psychoeducational assessments for learning differences, including dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia, and has experience assessing twice-exceptional (2e) young people with both neurodevelopmental differences and advanced intellectual abilities.

Nektarios understands that assessment can feel overwhelming for children, young people and their families. He takes an authentic and compassionate approach, creating a supportive environment where each individual feels understood and respected throughout the assessment process. His reports are designed not only to answer diagnostic questions but also to provide clear, practical recommendations that help children and adolescents access the support they need.

Alongside assessment, Nektarios provides therapeutic support using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), while also drawing on psychodynamic and family systems approaches. By considering the interaction between a young person’s thinking, emotions, relationships and environment, he develops collaborative, individualised strategies that promote lasting positive change.

Throughout his career, Nektarios has worked as a Senior Clinician (Psychologist) across a range of services, including Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Corrections, Adult Mental Health and the Department of Education. This breadth of experience enables him to work confidently with complex presentations and as part of multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic, evidence-informed care.

Nektarios holds a PhD in Psychology and has published research in international peer-reviewed journals. He is committed to delivering neuroaffirming, evidence-based care that recognises each child’s unique strengths while supporting families to understand, advocate for and help their young person thrive.
